NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Every spring, a Nominating Committee is formed to seek nominations to present to the membership at the Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors is currently one member short and there are no Reserve Board Members. The Board meets six times a year on Thursday evenings at the Quabbin Visitors Center. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please contact J. R. Greene, 26 Bearsden Road, Athol, MA 01331, tel. 978-249-0156.

VOLUNTEERS

We need volunteers to help with events and projects. If you have skills you would like to share, please send an email to info@foquabbin.org

ACCESS TO QUABBIN RESERVATION

Vehicle access to the Quabbin Visitor Center is through the West or Main Entrance on Route 9, one of the three Quabbin Park entrances. Visitor parking is available in the lot just west of the Quabbin Administration Building where the Visitor Center is located. Winsor Dam, the main impoundment structure for the reservoir, is open to non-motorized traffic which includes pedestrians and bicyclists. Security gates block the dam to motorized traffic, so vehicle access to the Quabbin Lookout Tower, Enfield Lookout, Hanks Picnic Area and the rest of the Quabbin Park area requires entry through the Middle or East Entrances to Quabbin Park, which are 1.7 and 2.9 miles east from the Main Entrance on Route 9 respectively. The Goodnough Dike is similarly restricted to motorized traffic but is a popular route for walkers.
